Check out the great Fan Mail below from our new feedback form and people who saw us on tour. Thanks for your kind words, you all kick serious ass!

FAN MAIL (updated 2/06)

You guys kick some serious arse...Nobody comes close to sounding like you guys...
Your catchy, yet you're different from virtually everything that's mainstream. You guys are the SHIZ NIGHT!!!!
Zero (mySpace) Brooklyn

You are the God of rock and I need to know what is next
on your agenda. Your godamn records kick my ass constantly. Just started smoking Pot again for the first time inyears. Yours is certainly the best music to hear in that mode(or any else). – Mark, Baltimore

music is gre8t and I WANNA HAVE YOUR BABIES! – Lotta

Regarding Little Minds, you & the group did another fine job. To me, the aspect of this album that stands out is the singing and vocal arrangements. My favorite tracks are May and Little Minds. Marigold is nice, too...it starts out sounding like Radiohead, then develops into a distinctly Count Zero tune. On the website, hearing the demos was enlightening and the lyric discussion was not only enlightening, but entertaining as well!
Kevin, Denver CO

You guys are scrumptious. I saw you at your record release and found the show to be ketchupy, schlagsahnish, a bit danish-like, and very Rogan Joshy! With lot's of tikka masala-ish innuendos and nutty fruity num-nums
thanks for the food,dude!
david, MA

I just wanted you to know that... can I say holy shit??? Your music captivates me, I just want to say............WOW double
WOW!!!! I'm buying and when are you coming to Atlanta??????
Faye M.

Hi guys, Just wanted to say FABULOUS show at the Lizard Lounge last night. You sounded fantastic. It was great to hear the new songs live and I was also thrilled that you played some of my favorites off Affluenza and Robots as well. I confess, I peeked at Will's song list as you were setting up and when I saw Chaos on the list, I nearly jumped out of my seat. I liked Schizoid Astoplane and Dream a Million Stars on the CD, but they just knocked me out live. (Schizoid was great as an opener, btw.) And of course, goGoGo and Bachelor sounded phenomenal. Looking forward to the next show.
Sarah

When I put Affluenza in the CD player I think "What a record ! The biggest one !" and when I put Robots I think "Wow, this is bigger ! Incredible !!!" and then I put Affluenza "No, this one is much more ..." etc, etc, etc.
Thank you and all the band !
Pascal Kauffmann, Belgium

Subject: STL Show... Fabulous show last night!  The performance gave me such energy.  Boston is definitely the best city in the US as far as I am concerned...I go there from time to time...well anyway...I was there about less than a year ago, and I was speaking with some people on the street and they had mentioned Count Zero...saying the band was "great" and that "they didn't care who you were you needed to listen to them"...so I went home to STL and began to listen to you, and loved it ever since.  keep the energy! I love that!  Hope you like playing for STL, and hope (and beg) that you will return!                         Denise Thomas (st. Louis)

Wonderful show last night (2/17/05). There were many moments, both musical and performance, when I just let loose a smile at being so thoroughly entertained. Your intricate style of writing and your stage style compliment each other so well. I hope the CD gets out to many ears so they may enjoy.
Thanks, Joey P. Boston (sculptor and songwriter, formerly of 'til tuesday)

Hi, I just saw you guys play last night in SD on the last night of your tour. I had never heard of you until I saw you play, but now that I have I'm def. going to buy your CD! the show was wonderful! many a time openers suck, but I was pleasently surprised + loved you guys!! thanks for playing,
-claire (San Diego)

It's a shame that you don't have any European distribution. Count Zero are one of those bands that deserve a far wider audience. Unfortunately it is often the case that far inferior music makes a bigger splash due to accessibility and the perverseness of the public's pre-programmed taste. Hope the new CD is a big one. ---Alan Lakey, Great Britain (author of the Pretty Things biography "Growing Old Disgracefully")

Little Minds is the shit!! really kicks my ass in the headphones. I know you hear it a lot and it doesn't help much, but why arent you" famous? rich? a celebrated American artist??? Great stuff, doode.
Mark S., NYC

Thanks for the cd. I'm listening to it right now. It's fantastic although it's different in style than the other two. I hope one day I can see the band perform this side of the ocean.
Steven, Oostvervende, Belgium

I was reviewing my iTunes playlist yesterday, and out of my 6000+ songs, Count Zero, Radiohead and Miles Davis had the most plays. You guys fucking rock!!!
Tom D., San Francisco

I had to tell you guys how much I'm enjoying your new material. Every time I listen to Schizoid Astroplane I feel like I'm at a futuristic hoedown and jet fluid fumes are seeping into the room and making me giddy.:-) In all seriousness though, these songs are wonderfully catchy but written so well that I can't get sick of em! I guess I just have a great deal of respect for this band.
J T A, western Mass.
P.S. I recently borrowed the Bony Fury disc from my cousin. I found it highly entertaining, stylin' and a little scary...

downloaded "dream a million stars" - mind-blowingly awesome.
paul l., charlottesville, va

Subject: Mississippi Nights show Mark, your monitor man, here... Just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed the whole evening of music last night. Well done.
Take care, mark (st louis)

I said I liked the album, but upon closer listening, maybe 6 or 7 times since Friday, I have concluded that it's hard to stop listening. You have acheived a record which I find deeply deserving and rewarding. (Please note that I have really Loved many songs on the previous releases) Somehow it hangs together and still has so much to chew on. The tunes are immediate, and then I read the lyrics, and it's even more stunning. The cover art is also my favorite, it conveys the right kind of feelings... I can really say that if I ran across it and wasn't already profoundly biased, I'm certain that I would be psyched. Compelled. etc. It feels so GOOD to listen to. So many frillables and low note harmony dives. I am reminded of Stevie Wonder and Massive Attack and many other things but that's mostly vibe-wise; the pieces themselves are unique. Plus it's great for living room interpretive dance! Hooray! I only wish it was 24 songs long... so well recorded; I'm really jiving on Marigold; ... you got some sexy songs: Did you decide yet? is super enticing, which is a bit of a shock considering what it's about. It's a very honest perspective; I've had that line of thought while working with some of the women (I sometimes run domestic violence victim's groups) but it's not possible to say it so bluntly. Amazing stuff. Oh yeah, Man, 27, is ...ominous and majestic... it's scary, ...I could go on. I think you had an extremely good reception at Arlene's and I'm dying to see you play again here.
NYC

Marcus H., SF

hi =) my name is Ibelisse. I live in San Diego, I actually just got home from seeing you guys with the Dresden Dolls, and I just really felt that I needed to tell you that I thought you guys were absolutely amazing. I rarely just love a band like that. I even bought your cd, another thing I rarely do. Anywho, if you guys ever need someone to help get the word about you guys out here Id love to help out. I can get everyone i know and everyone they know to listen to you guys. =D ___oh and the one guy he was either playing bass or guitar, hes really hot. xOxO

Hi, I just bought Robots Anonymous at the Dresden Dolls show in the Avalon. My girlfriend broke up with me the next day and your CD make me feel 25% better. See you at the next show. Thanks, Brad

The show in SF last week was awesome! I loved hearing "Bite off the Roses" live. I like your Robots Anonymous cd, but Count Zero's live performance far surpassed my expectations. I hope to see you guys perform again sometime! Brendon rocks for performing that whole tour after being as sick as he was in the beginning of the year. I was really impressesd. He doesn't know me or anything, so just tell him he rocks.
Karen =) San Francisco

I didn't get a chance to tell you after the show at Arlene's how much I really dug Count Zero - it was a truly fantastic performance. Nice to see things have kept developing to higher levels since Think Tree days. also - I really enjoyed reading your tour diary on the web site - definitely some nice documentation that got me laughing out loud at points.

Stacey sent us this:
"I caught your act a few weeks ago at the paradise and was amazed. I could not believe that something so innovative, really an entirely new direction for Rock-n-roll, was happening in my own back yard. I really liked what you were doing in particular (such a diverse plethora of layered sounds) on the keys. Enough with the gushing, if you maintain any sort of email info mailing list, please add me to it. Thanks!"

Mr. Chris said this:
"Yo Yo Yo My Dearest Heroes,
I must thank each of you for helping me to let goGoGO last Friday night ! My Indulgences in uncharacteristically extroverted behaviors (dancing like a wack-job, smiling incoherently and excessive flirting) without grossly affecting my body chemistry were overdue. Music has always been my mistress and my jones, but rarely do I, or does anyone else in this town, get as good of a fix or hear such Good News. I had forgotten what it felt like to be fan, had given up on the notion of freaking out at a rock show...... muchas gracias."
Out There, Mr. Chris

Here's some praise for a recent show:
the show at the lizard last night was great!! actually all of the past 3 shows were amazing.

Meri B. from Virginia Beach, VA sent us these kind words:
"I have been meaning to order the new album for months now, and I am glad to say I finally did! It's a musical roller coaster that left me scratching my
head. But in a good way! I really, really enjoy it. I even play it in the CD store I work in and tonight someone wanted to buy my copy. I said no. :o)"

Debbie from Soundcheck Magazine sent this:
I just had to write you a quick note to let you know how much I absolutely LOVED Robots Anonymous! - it is a brilliant piece of work and I am probably going to use those exact words in the review I am going to write for SoundCheck Magazine. What's a true sign of an unforgettable song? When a song suddenly pops into your head out of nowhere. Well, that's what has happened with your songs. I woke one morning with "Roach Motel" running through my head and I hadn't even listened to the CD in a few days at that point. I won't go on and on here - I'll save it all for the review, but I just had to tell you personally how impressed I was with it and how much I enjoyed it.
(see her review at bostonsoundcheck.com, Archives, March Issue)

Tim R. (writer of Boston Rock Opera's Crapckpot Notion) sent this kind letter:
"peter, ... i want to say congratulations on the cd, it's awesome. my favorite tracks are starry skies & sham maker. i love your vocal approach on starry skies, and the feeling of the song. sham maker's unbelievably infectious, the groove is unstoppable. lots of other great things too...like the frampton-comes-alive style vocoder scatting on bachelor #3, hilarious. incredible engineering and production too. take it easy, man, and congrats again. that that was a great show at lilli's. it was really great to hear the new songs live; the personality of the arrangements really came through for me. the new songs have so many great & unique grooves, textures, & abstract musical humor (as well as lyrical wit). that'll be 25 cents please. no in all seriousness i say these things because i don't know how much feedback you get on those elements and i think you deserve recognition for them."
tim

Here's something we got from Rick, the president of MusicTV.com and OnLineTV.com:
"Man, I got your CD and I am really really impressed. You have the most innovative sound I have heard in a long time. I love this music. You guys RULE!"

Doug V. Wrote This:
"hey there, just picked up your new CD (got the last one at newbury comics hvd. sq). a couple of observations: -- this is a masterpiece. these are real songs, and this production is like concentrated cocaine, in smokeable form. -- your vocal-to-music balance is absolutely perfect-- it's always placed exactly right in the track-- every word is clear, but it's never overpowering, the band retains full power. -- there are so many meticulously fantastic sonic touches throughout each song that i've got to force myself to refrain from rewinding songs to listen repeatedly to 6 second sections to marvel at the workmanship. -- the best drum sounds known to man. they're fat, yet natural, yet loose, yet right fucking on, you fucking m'fcker! -- it's going to take about 100 listens through before i get a handle on this record (that's about 95 more listens than i give to a lot of the stuff i bring home these days). then i reckon I'll listen a bit more. there's nothing out there that's so sophisticated and intellectually intense, yet heartfelt, touching, but most importantly: it truly rocks, with as much elemental punch as AC/DC. this should be the biggest thing on the g'damn planet. this should be bigger than steely dan. anyway, as a fan from the very beginning, i'd like to say thanks for delivering the best shit in boston for 16 years. good luck, and talk to you later"-- d

"Drewn" writes:
"Your new stuff words just cant explain. It hits me deep. All of the think tree/count zero stuff does. keep it up!"

"Mr. Gill" is oozing with delight:
"Hi, folks, I bought Robots Anonymous yesterday and listened in amazement. It is a *perfect* CD, in my opinion, and there are not too many of those. The originality, performance, flow and presentation blend into an unmatched listening experience, start to finish, solid. "Affluenza" has long been a favorite, and "Like the Idea" is without question an all-time classic. Peter is clearly a genius (not to take anything away from the rest of y'all), so I pray he doesn't "go 'round the bend" any time soon :-). I'm very happy that you've found each other. Truly, "Robots Anonymous" has everything. Thank you so much for making this incredible CD. I wish you great success. Take care."

Here's one from Indonesia!:
"Hello guys! My name Aidil, I come from Indonesia. My job is Reporter At one of station radio in my country. Name of my radio Rock Metal Radio . Just wanted to e-mail and say that I thoroughly enjoyed the show you guys put on alongside the 'dolls this immediate past Saturday in Columbia. I'll keep my ears and eyes open in case you come around again.
Mike Buzzard, (from Columbia, SC)

Hey, I saw you guys for the the second time last night. ( was at the dallas show as well as st. louis). The only difference this time was i was in the city where i live so my friends were all there to dance with me. The Dresden Dolls have been my favorite since i was 13 and they always play with 'okay' sort of bands, but you guys are fucking incredible live. I gave Peter a hug (lead singer/guitarist) And your Mr. Izzy let me run my fingers through his pretty hair at the merch table..it made my day!!!!   Keep coming to st. louis!! -Laurie

A plea from a Think Tree fan:
Hi guys,
I am interested in a limited live CD of Think Tree! I LOVED Think Tree! Gimme!!
- Tim -
(we're working on it Tim, currently going through lots of live tapes from Boston and from our Europe/Netherlands tours)

I(the nut with the feather boa) was front row for your show in Houston with the Dresden Dolls. I was thoroughly impressed with Count Zero's show, especially when it was most unexpected. I have seen about 40 bands this year so far and few opening bands come out with as strong of a set as you guys did. Also, I noticed that on your tour journal, you noted the young audience at the Houston show. I myself am only 14 but very much enjoyed your music and performance, so I stand to say that your music is not entirely lost on a young audience, I promise. I just wanted to write you and express my utmost appreciation for Count Zero putting on such an excellent show. Oh, and Izzy has the coolest eyebrows ever(blue!). :) Admiringly, Molly Forsythe, Houston

you guys need to come back down to san diego!!! we miss you!!! we wanna see you guys again!!! your's truely, anubercoolsandiegofan
